Joshua possesses a rare blend of big-firm experience and a deep commitment to public service. He co-founded Sector Law to offer the caliber of legal counsel typically reserved for large corporations to organizations working on society’s most pressing challenges. He brings legal sophistication, public sector experience and a problem-solving mindset to every engagement.

Joshua advises nonprofits, foundations and other impact-focused entities in a wide range of legal matters, including:

  • Entity formation and governance
  • General counsel services, including commercial contracts and risk management
  • Mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions
  • Regulatory and compliance matters involving state and federal laws
  • Tax research and planning

Prior to founding Sector, Joshua worked for two of the largest law firms in the world, supporting Fortune 500 businesses and small clients in a diverse practice.  Additionally, Joshua has held public service roles with the U.S. Congress, nonprofits and state and local governments, gaining valuable insight into policy development and the regulatory landscape. 

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Joshua enjoys camping, hiking and spending time with his wife and family.
